乌 龟
一出生
就有一间小屋
一辈子
背着行走
死了
又是一副好棺材
Tortoise
Upon birth
He has a small dome
For a lifetime
He carries it on his back
Upon death
Into a good coffin it turns

毕业照
挂在老屋的墙上
像一个马蜂窝
多看一眼
就有往事飞过来
在我的额头
蜇一下
Graduation Photo
Hung on the wall of my old house
It is like a wasp nest
If I cast more than a glance at it
Some past memories would fly over
And sting
On my forehead

父 亲
父亲栽下一棵树
又抡起斧头
把它砍倒，做成棺材
父亲走后，那地方
又长出一棵
好多次，我都把它
当成父亲
Father
My father planted a tree
Later he swung an axe
Cut it down and made it into a coffin
After he died, at the same spot
Grew another tree
Many times, I mistook it
For him

磷 火
老人走时
腰间还插着那把烟枪
天一黑
就掏出来抽几口
慢慢地吐出
憋了一辈子的怨气
Phosphorus Sparks
When the old man leaves
A tobacco pipe is still cinched in his waist
When it gets dark
He would fish it out and take a few whiffs
To slowly vent
His grievance pent up all his life

老黄牛
皮鞭从身体里抽打出
一个好名声
在刀尖捅进脖子的瞬间
恍然大悟
低头拉了一辈子车
还没顾上抬头看路
A Willing Ox
Whips on his body brought him
A good reputation
That very moment a knife stabbed into his neck
He suddenly realized
For a lifetime pulling carts with his head down
He neglected to look up at the road

偶 遇
河堤上
男人牵着一条狗
女人被一条狗牵着
迎面而过
狗跟狗打了声招呼
两个人
一句话没说
An Encounter
On the riverbank
A man leading a dog
And a woman led by a dog
Passed by each other head-on
Two dogs greeted
Two humans
Uttered not a single word


碑 文
这辈子
浪费了太多的光阴
只是转了一圈
不可能名垂千古
也不会遗臭万年
那就选一块上好的石材
歪歪扭扭地刻下
到此一游
Epitaph
In this life
Too much time is wasted
Just a round-trip made
And no fame to go down in history
Though no shame to be left behind either
I would then seek a decent stone
And carve on it in scrawl
“I was here”
